4.7.5 Costs
4.7.5.1 Capital Costs
4.7.5.2 Operating Costs
4.7.5.1 Capital Costs
Equipment costs for two different manufacturers of membrane electrolysis
equipment are shown in Exhibit 4-31, based on their estimated
removal capacity for iron from a bath containing 10 g/l of iron.
Installed costs are approximately 5% to 20% higher than equipment
costs.
4.7.5.2 Operating Costs
Operating costs for the membrane electrolysis technology are presented
in Exhibit 4-32. These are based on the operation of units designed
for the removal of 400 g/day of iron from chromic acid solutions
containing 4 to 10 g/l of iron.
